PURPOSE: Provided is an anticancer agent which treats lung cancer by inhibition of DNA damage caused by 4-(methylnitrosoamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone(NNK). The agent increases expression of p27 and p53 genes, as a checkpoint of G1 cell cycle and decreases expression of PCNA and cyclin. CONSTITUTION: An anti-cancer agent comprises 7-hydroxy-3-methoxy-cadalene and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof which treat lung cancer caused by NNK as a metabolite of nicotine.
