PURPOSE: A method for processing ginseng by heating ginseng with herbal plants to increase the medicinal efficacy of ginseng is provided. The ginseng extract contains a ginsenoside(Rg3+Rg5)/(Rb1+Bb2+Rc+Rd) ratio of 10 to 45 and has a synergistic action between ginseng and herbal plants. CONSTITUTION: In a method for processing ginseng, 100 parts by weight of ginseng and 10 to 1,000 parts by weight of one or more herbal plants are added with 4 to 10 times of water, heated for 1 to 6hr at 70 to 120deg.C and filtered after cooling. One or more herbal plants are selected from Schizandrae Fructus, Crataegi Fructus, Corni Fructus, Chinese quince, Mume Fructus, Citrus junos Tanaka, Ponciri Fructus, apple, Punica granatum and orange. The ginseng is Ginseng radix alba, fresh Ginseng radix, tiny sized Ginseng radix, Ginseng radix rubra, leaves of Ginseng radix, Notoginseng radix or Panax japonicus C.A.Meyer.
