METHOD OF OPERATIONAL USE OF RECIPROCATING ENGINE AND RECIPROCATING ENGINE OPERATED ACCORDING TO THIS METHOD

PURPOSE: A method for operating a 2-stroke reciprocating piston internal combustion engine is provided to secure more effective operation of the piston internal combustion engine in a load range below a pre-set rotation limit speed. CONSTITUTION: A method for operating a 2-stroke reciprocating piston internal combustion engine is composed of a cylinder(2) having an outlet valve(3) and a scavenging air opening(4); a supercharger group(7) having an air-compressing rotor(10) and a turbine(9) driven by exhaust gas from a combustion chamber(22) of the cylinder; and a piston(5) for reciprocating in the cylinder along a running surface(6) between a bottom dead center position(UT) and a top dead center(OT). The compressed air is supplied as scavenging air(12) through the scavenging air opening to the combustion chamber of the cylinder. The outlet valve is opened in advance and then closed under a pre-scavenging phase below a pre-set rotation limit speed before the next inflow of the scavenging air into the combustion chamber of the cylinder after the fuel injection at the next combustion.
