The invention concerns a method for making an oxirane by reacting an olefin with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalyst and an organic diluent, whereby the hydrogen peroxide is an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution obtained by extracting substantially pure water from the mixture derived for the oxidation of at least an alkylanthrahydroquinone, without subsequent washing and/or purifying treatment. |
