FIELD: food technology, medicine, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cacao bean extracts, such as polyphenols, preferably polyphenols, enriched with procyanidines. Cacao extract is prepared by method involving grinding cacao beans to powder, defatting the prepared powder and extraction active compounds from this powder. Invention relates also to using cacao extracts, mainly, in antitumoral compositions, in compositions that inhibit activity of topoisomerase and as antioxidants.
