FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; performing high-temperature reduction processes. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes reduction sintering of oxidized nickel-cobalt ores, grinding sinter and magnetic separation of this sinter. Used as single and main chemical reagent is ash of thermoelectric plants obtained after powder-like burning of coal. Grinding and magnetic separation of sinter are performed in sulfuric acid solution at concentration not exceeding 45 g/l.
