FIELD: working by cutting, namely milling cutters with mechanically fastened cutting tips. SUBSTANCE: milling cutter includes body in peripheral surface of which there are open outside recesses for placing working member carrying cutting tips and at least one clamping wedge designed for fixing working member by means of clamping screw. Back wall of recess has first riffles designed for engagement with similar second riffles on back wall of working member. Front wall of recess is smooth and it is designed for engaging with smooth front surface of clamping wedge. Back contact surface of clamping wedge and front contact surface of working member are smooth ones, mainly for radially shifting clamping wedge at tightening it relative to working member. In order to improve accuracy of arranging cutting tips, base of each recess is made at least of two parts spaced by different radial distances from rotation axis and divided by means of first bearing surface inclined relative to riffles on back wall of recess and designed for engaging with second bearing surface provided on working member for holding it in strictly fixed position relative to body.
