PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for EL element evading a state where excessive layers are laminated on each light emitting part formed in a pattern when the light emitting part is formed by using a photo lithography method and carrying out peeling easily and speedily. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing EL element, a process for forming a different color light emitting layer by coating liquid for forming a light emitting layer which is of a different color from the light emitting part on a substrate provided with at least one color light emitting part with a photoresist layer on its surface, a process for forming a photoresist layer for different color light emitting by coating the photoresist on the different color light emitting layer, a process for patterning so that the photoresist layer for the different color light emitting layer of the part where the different color light emitting part can remain by exposing and developing the photoresist layer, for different color light emitting layer, and a process for forming the patterned different color light emitting part with the photoresist layer for the different color light emitting layer on its surface, are provided.
