PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of performing proper and quick image processing regardless of variations in photographing condition. SOLUTION: A light receiving unit of a CCD is divided into three fields. An image data of a first field is read out, after a photographing operation is completed. When the image data of a second field is read out, an arithmetic processing Tc for Auto Exposure/Write Buffer correction values is performed based on the image data of the first field. When the image data of a third field is read out, a correction processing is performed based on the AE/WB correction values calculated by the arithmetic processing Tc. An image processing Tg to the image data of the first and the second fields is performed based on the AE/WB correction values. Thus, the image processing is quickly performed with respect to the AE/WB correction. The image processing is performed on the basis of the information not before photographing but at the time of photographing. Consequently, the appropriate image processing can be performed regardless of variations in photographing condition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
