A device and a method for removing or modifying a material substance, comprising: applying energy to an intermediate material, said intermediate material subsequently delivering said energy to the target material. The device and the method also utilize active energy removal schemes in order to minimize pain, and/or protect some tissue and or control tissue modification and removal effects. A system for enhancing and improving the delivery of a substance across a barrier. A substance is applied to the surface of the barrier to be penetrated. The substance is then brought in contact with a device containing an energy source, said energy source emit energy which causes an intermediate medium to drive the substance across the barrier. |
