METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR COMMUNICATING SELECTED SEARCH RESULTS BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND ENTITIES OVER A NETWORK

A search result set (104) is communicated to a first user (92) as hypertext descriptions of data items constituting the result search set (104). A check box (252) is displayed adjacent each hypertext description, utilizing which the first user (92) may select a subset of the search result set (106). This subset (106) is then communicated to a second user (94), again as hypertext descriptions of the subset. Checked boxes (252) are furthermore displayed (110) to the second user (94) so as to enable the second user (94) to select a further and narrower subset of the search result set (108). Selected items (108) of a result set of an Internet-based (34) search may in this way conveniently be communicated between first (92) and second users (94). Each of a number of interfaces (168, 172, 174, 176, 178, 184, 186) provides the hypertext descriptions of the data items of the search result set.
