The stick is provided with a lamp (1) at the handle end. This is supplied by an internal battery or accumulator with appropriate charging unit. The stick can be rigid or have telescopic sections (6) which can be illuminated internally. With telescopic stick provision is made to lock the sections in position to they remain in position as the stick contacts paved surfaces.
