In an NC lathe (1) having a machine body (2) in which a carriage (5) with a tool post (6) mounted thereon is provided on a fixed bed (4) on one side thereof nearer to an operator, and in which a headstock (7) for loading a workpiece (W) thereon is provided on the other side of the fixed bed farther from the operator, with a cover (3) provided so as to surround external of the machine body, wherein at a portion of the side wall (3c) of the cover confronting the tool post, as viewed from the operator, a door opening (52) is formed and a side door (53) for opening and closing the door opening is provided. Thus, for the machine tool, tool replacing work is facilitated and the workability can be improved. <IMAGE> |
