PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection system for crew weight, capable of detecting crew weights with exact values for confirming if air bags are provided, to protect sitting persons on vehicle seats. SOLUTION: A CPU reads weight signals of each sensor which are filtered by a sensor signal input circuit, calculates their total value as a detected weight and stores in a memory (step 101). The CPU decides whether the absolute value of the detected weight is below a human body detection threshold WA and the state continues longer than an effective detection period T1 (step 103). If the state that the absolute value of the detected weight is below a human body detection threshold WA continues more than an effective detection period T1, the CPU decides that there is as no crew (step 104).
