PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal capable of controlling its back light without increasing the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal comprises a light emitting diode used for a lamp which shows the operaton state of the device or enhances the visibility of a front surface of the terminal case at night. The light emitting diode to serves double as an optical sensor which generates electromotive force according to an environmental brightness and to control the back light under a display of the mobile terminal on the basis of the generated electromotive force.
