PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carcinogenesis-preventing agent which has an excellent carcinogenesis-preventing effect and high safety. SOLUTION: This carcinogenesis-preventing agent is characterized by containing at least one of a fatty acid and its methyl ester. The fatty acid is especially preferably docosahexaenoic acid or the like, and the fatty acid methyl ester is especially preferably a highly unsaturated fatty acid methyl ester such as methyl eicosapentaenoate, methyl docosapentaenoate, or methyl docosahexaenoate.
