NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE AND LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery excellent in battery cycle characteristic and such battery characteristics as electric capacity and charge storing characteristics.

SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte has an electrolyte dissolved in a nonaqueous solvent. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains tert-butylbenzene or its inducer. It is used for manufacturing a lithium secondary battery of which a discharge capacity maintenance ratio is at least 90.1% after fifty cycles of charging/discharging operation in which charging is performed for five hours until a final voltage 4.2V with a constant current and constant voltage at 20°C and then discharging is performed until a final voltage 2.7V with the constant current. The lithium secondary battery contains the nonaqueous electrolyte.
