<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize stop of transmission of print data from a host computer to a printer under the USB printer class protocol without increasing the load of the receiver side printer. <P>SOLUTION: On the occurrence of a transmission stop request during transmission of print data to the printer (S206-NO), the host computer informs the printer about the data transmission stop through a channel different from that for data transmission (S217). The printer receives the notice, stops its processing and aborts the received data. After completion of the processing stop, the abort of the received data, and reception preparation of succeeding data streams, the printer informs the host computer about the completion of the interruption procedure. The host computer does not transmit the succeeding data stream until the host computer receives the notice of completion of the interruption procedure from the printer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
