<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-performance cell output in a short time after a polymer electrolyte fuel cell is assembled or when the cell left as it is without being used for a long time is to be restarted. <P>SOLUTION: A potential high-performance cell output is enabled to be brought out simply in a short time by boiling the polymer electrolyte fuel cell with deionized water, leading warm water into a gas supply channel, cleaning the gas supply channel of the polymer electrolyte fuel cell with deionized water after leading alcohol in the channel, or generating power of the polymer electrolyte fuel cell at high oxygen utilization factor and retaining it at low potential. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
