PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize information reproduction which prevents unauthorized copying digital works recorded on an optical disk to other optical disks and which is stabilized. SOLUTION: When main information is recorded as a recording mark, an edge position of the record mark is displaced very slightly in the track direction and sub-information is recorded, It is determined whether to displace the edge position of the recording mark in the phase lead direction or in the of phase lag direction, based on a frequency lower than one half of the reference frequency of the write clock for forming the recording mark and based on a frequency which is higher than the response frequency of a phase-locked loop (PLL) for generating a reproducing channel clock, when the main information is reproduced.
