<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method using a negative image forming material on which an image is recorded with the use of IR laser by which an image having excellent resolution and printing durability is formed even though a heat treatment is not carried out after exposure, and a planographic printing plate having stable quality is obtained when subjected to a development processing with always constant solution activity. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming method comprises developing the negative image forming material provided with an image recording layer containing (A) a radical generator, (B) a radical polymerizable compound, (C) an IR absorbent, and (D) a binder polymer on a base by using an alkaline developing solution containing a weak acid having a dissociation constant pka ranging from 10 to 13 or its salt after image exposure by an IR laser. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
