<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine wherein a main control substrate can more precisely perform various controls other than an image control, and in an image control substrate, the expression of an image having more amusement is made possible by increasing a degree of freedom from the main control substrate, and a communication error is accurately notified to a game player, and which is full of entertainment feelings. <P>SOLUTION: An error process ER2 is a case in which a variation pattern and respective designated special patterns are normally received, but a pattern stop command cannot be received. In the error process ER2, an oscillating variation is performed with stopped patterns after a variation time for each special pattern has passed. The oscillating variation by the error process may be performed for each special pattern after the variation time for each special pattern has passed, or the oscillating variations may simultaneously be performed after the variation time for the right special pattern has passed, i.e., the variation time for all special pictures has passed.
