<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized mobile information terminal provided with a camera unit including a variable power optical system. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile information terminal is provided with: a main body 10 on which operation buttons 11 are placed; a cover 20 on which a display section 21 to display information is placed; a hinge section 30 for freely turnably coupling the cover 20 to the main body 10; and a camera unit 50 including the variable power optical system and a CCD 62 for photographing an object. The camera unit 50 includes a reflection prism 52 for changing the traveling direction of an object light to lead the light to the CCD 62, and is located in an area of the hinge section 30 so that the axis of the light passing through the reflection prism 52 is almost in parallel with an axial line S of the hinge section 30. Thus, even the camera unit including the variable power optical system whose optical axis is comparatively long can be placed without causing a projected contour so as to contribute to downsizing of the terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
