PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head assembly which reconciles increase of a pressing load, for improving the impact resistance in the operation of an apparatus with atmospheric pressure dependence on floating quantity, since the atmospheric pressure dependence worsens with the increase in the pressing load. SOLUTION: A first slider 4 provided with a head for recording and reproducing information is provided on the tip side of a suspension and and a second slider 14, which records and reproduces no information, is provided on the side of an arm 1 of the suspension. A large pressing load is applied to the second slider 14 for improving the impact resistance not only of the second slider 14, but also of the whole suspension, and the load to be applied to the first head slider 4 is reduced to be smaller than that to the second slider 14 for suppressing the variance of the floating quantity due to the atmospheric pressure dependence.
