PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital recorder requiring no switching of a command according to a data format of an optical disk installed in a digital recorder by a controller such as a DTV, and solving the problem of compatibility. SOLUTION: This recorder 120 is a recorder for recording various data on the optical disk 372, and is provided with an optical disk drive 370 for installing the optical disk 372 and a command processing means 330 for detecting a data classification for permitting recording by the data format predetermined in the optical disk 372 installed in the optical disk drive 370, and discriminates the data classification of data acquired from an external part. When the data classification is a data classification for permitting the recording by the command processing means 330, an optical disk drive control means 360 records the data on removable media, and when the data classification is an unpermitted data classification, the data is recorded on an information storage buffer 350.
