PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus control system for allowing a host apparatus to execute apparatus control by uploading an optimal program code from a target apparatus according to one's own executing environment. SOLUTION: The target apparatus 2 pre-holds a plurality of program codes 231 to 23n used in a different executing environment and a header object 221 being information on the respective program codes. The host apparatus 1 acquires the header object 221 from the target apparatus 2, and determines a program code 23x (x is either of 1 to n) most optimal for the one's own executing environment by analyzing the information. The host apparatus 1 uploads the determined program code 23x from the target apparatus 2, and controls the target apparatus 2 by interpreting and executing the program code. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
