PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for estimating a condition of a complicated and greatly deformable object such as a garment by using a simple object model and a simple image input device. SOLUTION: The condition of the objective garment is estimated from an input image. A model representing a rough basic geometry of the garment is formed, and using this model, all the possible geometries formed when it is gripped by one point are predicted. According to the analysis of the predicted geometry, characteristic quantity obtained from the input image formed by photographing the objective garment, which is gripped by one point, is processed, and when the closest geometry is determined by computing, the condition is estimated.
