<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink set enabling recording of images with high light fastness. <P>SOLUTION: The ink set comprises a yellow, a magenta and a cyan ink composition, and the magenta composition contains one or more of compounds of image (1) (wherein A is an alkylene group, a phenylene-containing alkylene group or a group of image (2); R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; and X is NH<SB>2</SB>, OH or Cl) and their salts as a colorant.
