<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately position a plurality of flat cables of which the width dimension varies and facilitate bundling work of both the flat cables. <P>SOLUTION: This bundling retainer 5 for the flat cables which is used for stacking and bundling a plurality of the flat cables F1, F2 of which the width dimension varies has a first slit 11 for retaining the first flat cable F1 with a wider width and a second slit 13 for retaining the second flat cable with a narrower width. A partitioning wall plate 7 is disposed between the first slit 11 and the second slit 13 to make both the slits 11, 13 face each other via the partitioning wall plate 7, and reference planes (first and second step portions 9, 12) for positioning which correspond to the width dimension of the flat cables F1, F2 are provided at the bottom parts of the respective slits 11, 13.
