PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear transmission for a motorcycle that can bring about many merits such as prevention of fouling of a gear rotation speed detecting sensor, improvement in detecting accuracy, an increase in the rigidity of a casing, a decrease in the number of parts and a decrease of mechanical loss while silencing the sound of gear mesh and miniaturizing the gear transmission through the effective use of an internal space. SOLUTION: This gear transmission for the motorcycle wherein a gear train comprising the N pieces (three or more) of gears is accommodated in the casing, is characterized by shifting the mesh timing A1, B1, C1, D1 of all the mesh parts A of the gear train by 1/(N-1) of a front normal pitch te. The mesh sounds made from the respective mesh parts are thereby offset each other to theoretically make the entire mesh sound zero, thus silencing the sound of gear mesh. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
