PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an echo canceler which can reduce residual echoes more surely. SOLUTION: This echo canceler has an echo cancel part 4 and a noise suppression part 11, and the echo cancel part 4 has a function of generating pseudo echoes by passing a received signal through a filter simulating an echo path 2 and adding this pseudo echo to an input signal, inverting its phase. Moreover, the noise suppression part 11 includes such a low pass filter that cut off frequency becomes low when the power of a signal is small and that the cut off frequency becomes high when the power of the signal is large, and this echo canceler transmits the output of the echo canceler part 4 as a transmission signal after passing it through the noise suppression part 11.
