PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovered object separator and a recovered object separation method in a road sweeper in which the fine particles of earth or sand recovered from a road surface by an air flow are effectively separated and recovered. SOLUTION: A partition member having a partition plate 5 for dividing a hollow area of a hopper 2 into two areas and a mesh plate 6 slightly spaced therefrom are disposed. The lower parts of the partition plate 5 and the mesh plate 6 are cut out to form a communicating port 7. A baffle plate 8 is slantwise disposed at a position opposed to a dust inlet port 3. Thus, the air flow F enters one area from the dust inlet port 3, is guided to the communicating port 7 by the baffle plate 8 and enters the other area through the communicating port 7 and discharged through an exhaust port 4.
