PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an external preparation for the skin in which solubility and emulsifiability of tocopherol in the skin care preparation for the skin are improved and a tocopherol aminoalkylcarboxylic acid ester containing a substituent group on the N-atom and/or its salt is efficiently converted to active type tocopherol in skin tissue and a cosmetic containing the same. SOLUTION: The external preparation for the skin comprises the tocopherol aminoalkylcarboxylic acid ester containing the substituent group on the N-atom and/or its salt which has useful solubility and emulsifiability and is efficiently converted to active type tocopherol in skin tissue. The cosmetic contains the external preparation for the skin. The problem is solved by using the external preparation for the skin and the cosmetic. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
