PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of a display by properly protecting external wiring provided at the extended portion of a pair of substrates. SOLUTION: The display 1 has: a pixel region S interposed between a pair of substrates 11a, 11b; and an external connection wiring 14 arranged at an extended portion which is provided to only one (the substrate 11b) of the pair of substrates 11a, 11b.
