1,091,057. Boots &c. E. BRUTTING. June 22, 1966 [July 10, 1965], No. 27980/66. Heading A3B. A shoe 4, e.g. a sports shoe, has a sole 1 e.g. of rubber, and a protective toe cap 2 which is integral with the sole 1. The shoe is made by cutting a blank to form the sole 1 and the toe cap 2, reducing the thickness of the cap portion of the blank, preferably on the side facing the shoe, and then sticking the sole and toe cap to a lasted upper. The free edges 3 of the toe cap may be turned in between the upper and sole 1. A heel cap may be similarly formed at the heel end of the shoe. |
