<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for identifying a new epitopic peptide having a desired binding activity to a specific target substance, and a phage library for the same. <P>SOLUTION: This method for identifying the peptide is provided by (1) preparing a phage library consisting of phages presenting one or more copies of a specific chimera coat protein on the surface of each of the phages, wherein each of the chimera coat proteins contain an epitope candidate or a bonding domain candidate as a mutant of a known protein domain which is foreign for the phage, and collectively presenting the multiple number of the epitope candidates or bonding domain candidates, (2) bringing the phage library in contact with the target substance and (3) separating the phages based on the affinity of the phages to the target substance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
