PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optimizing the mounting order of components for a high productivity component mounter.

SOLUTION: In the method for optimizing the mounting order of components using a computer in a component mounter 100 where a component group is sucked by a mounting head 112 capable of sucking maximum n(≥2) components from a row of component cassettes containing components and mounted on a board by moving the mounting head 112 through an XY robot, the method for optimizing the arrangement of component tapes when they are contained in the component cassette in units of the group of the identical type of components for a plurality of NC data corresponding to a plurality of types of board comprises a step for determining the arrangement of a common component tape for individual NC data such that the conditions of arranging the component tapes in the descending order of the number of components are satisfied most for the individual NC data.
