PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a phosphoric acid monoester in high purity and yield by reacting an epoxy compound with a phosphoric acid compound. SOLUTION: The method for producing a phosphoric acid ester by the reaction of an epoxy compound with a phosphoric acid compound comprises the reaction of an epoxy compound with a phosphoric acid compound expressed by general formula (1) (HO)3-a-P(=O)-(OR1)a(R1is a 1-6C primary alkyl; and (a) is 1-2) and hydrolyzing the group of P(=O)-(OR1)ato a group expressed by P(=O)-(OH)a.
