PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be able to stably record and reproduce management information regarding recorded information in repeated recording of the information on a rewritable optical disc, such as a DVD-RW. SOLUTION: An information recording device records, for example, recorded information including an image, a voice, and the like, and unit information including reproduction control information for its reproduction on the rewritable recording medium. In a status after its recording, temporary management information, regarding every unit record information recorded on the recording medium, is generated and recorded on the recording medium. Since the temporary management information is the management information regarding the unit information recorded on the rewritable recording medium, each of the unit record information can be reproduced from the recording medium by referring to the temporary management information afterwards, by generating the temporary management information and being recorded on the recording medium, each time when another unit record information is recorded on the recording medium. When an access error occurs, such as write error or verification error, for example, in recording of the temporary management information, its position on the recording medium is set not to be used and the temporary recorded information is recorded by changing the position for temporary recoding.
