PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve difficulty and complication at the time of setting the telephone number of a line to be exclusively used for transmission without letting the others know it, and to simplify an operation at the time of informing the others of the telephone number of a line not to be exclusively used for transmission. SOLUTION: This communication equipment connectable to two telephone lines is provided with a telephone number setting means capable of setting its own telephone number corresponding to each line and a function setting means capable of designating at least one of the two lines as a line exclusive for transmission. At the time of executing communication by using the line designated as the line exclusive for transmission, when the other line is not designated as the line exclusive for transmission, the other communicating party is informed of its own telephone number corresponding to the line which is not designated as the line exclusive for transmission.
