<p>A bio-material (I) comprises tissues basically obtained from an animal cornea. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) patch suitable for application in blood vessels, cavity organs or viscera, containing (I); (2) treatment of (I), which involves explantation of the tissue from the eyeball of an animal (particularly fish), washing the tissue with sterile physiological solution, fixing the tissue with glutaraldehyde solution at variable concentrations (0.1%-5%, preferably 0.4%), fixing in phosphate buffer saline solution at pH 7.4 for variable periods (preferably three months, so as to cause an increase in the cruciform bonds of the tissular collagen) and treating the tissue with bioactive substances, such as heparin, antibiotics, anticalcifying agents and drugs, to give the tissue additional potentially favorable characteristics, such as prevention of calcification phenomena and increased antithrombogenicity; (3) packing including (I) and a support frame containing (I); (4) prosthesis or implant partially made with (I); and (5) cardiac valve (10) including a support frame (11), some covering units (12,13) of the frame, some fasteners (14) to the patient's heart, and at least one cusp (15) containing (I), to open and close blood flow during systole and diastole.
