A hydrogenated copolymer which is a product of hydrogenation of a copolymer having a softening point as measured by the ball-and-ring method of 45 to 55 ~C and which has a softening point as measured by the ball-and-ring method of 8 5 to 95~C; and a hot-melt adhesive composition containing the hydrogenated copolymer. The hydrogenated copolymer has a reduced weight loss on heating a nd has a satisfactory hue after heating. The hot-melt adhesive composition, whi ch contains the hydrogenated copolymer, has excellent flowability during heatin g, has a reduced weight loss on heating, changes little in hue upon heating, an d has excellent thermal stability.
