<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform optimal multi-channel reproduction by knowing a real speaker connection in an apparatus having audio channels of 5.1 to 7.1 channel. <P>SOLUTION: On the side of an audio amplifier, impedance of a terminal is measured, for example, to know a real speaker location. When there is an erroneous connection, a caution is raised. The information is transmitted to a signal source by an EDID signal to send signals of an optimal channel number. The EDID signal is also used for a connection with a video display part to know the connection of a speaker that the video display part intrinsically has.
