<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine for generating a desired high voltage by suppressing the generation of a crack on a resin insulator near the inside corner of an end in the axial direction of a circumference core without enlarging a size in the diameter direction of the ignition coil. <P>SOLUTION: An attachment part 23b is formed at the end of a primary spool 23 in the low voltage side of a secondary coil 21, and a ring member 51 is fitted to this attachment part 23b. The circumference core 25 is attached to the circumference side of the primary coil 24, and the inside corners at both ends in the axial direction of the circumference core 25 are covered with rubber ring members 50, 51. The ring member 50, 51 prevents an epoxy resin 26 directly contacting with the inside corners at the both ends of the circumference core 25, and therefore the generation of the crack caused by a temperature change at the epoxy resin 26 near the inside corners thereof. This suppresses discharge between the circumference core 25 of a low voltage part and a high voltage part and then the desired high voltage can be applied to an ignition plug. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
