<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutral polarization plate which can obtain colorless polarized light for both of a white display and a black display, and an image display device such as a liquid crystal display device and the like using the plate. <P>SOLUTION: The neutral polarization plate is made more colorless than the single panel of an original dichromatic polarization plate by laminating an absorption dichromatic polarization plate having dichromaticity in the total wavelength region of visible light and a layer having anisotropy in reflection characteristics by a polarization state in such a manner that the absorption axis of the absorption dichromatic polarization plate is orthogonal to the polarization axis of the light arriving at the polarization plate by passing the reflection anisotropic layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
