PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery having a built-in battery protecting element by forming a battery protecting element and a terminal stand on a battery body. SOLUTION: A PTC element 8 and a temperature fuse 9 are arranged on a sealing plate 6 of the battery body 2, and a resin cover 17 into which, a positive terminal plate 18 and a negative terminal plate 16 are inserted, is arranged so as to surround the PTC element and the temperature fuse. An end of the positive terminal plate 18 and an end of the negative terminal plate 16 are respectively formed into a positive external connection terminal 3 and a negative external connection terminal 4, which are exposed outside. An extended portion of the negative terminal plate 16 is welded to the sealing plate 6, and the resin cover 17, the positive terminal plate 18 and the negative terminal plate 16 are fixed to the battery main body.
