PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circulating fluidized bed furnace which includes a control function of certainly moving a required amount of sand to a sand layer (a rich layer) while maintaining a seal function of a seal part, prevents air quantity of ascending from a downcomer, and is favorable for carrying out a gasification method for gasifying wastes or an incineration method for incinerating the wastes. SOLUTION: This circulating floor furnace includes the sand layer 1; a free board part 2; a cyclone 3; the downcomer 10; and the seal part 4. Combustibles are burned by being thrown into the fluidized rich layer 1, and the sand of the sand layer 1 ascends through the free board 2 with ash produced by combustion of the combustibles and combustion exhaust gas, enters the cyclone 3, passes through the downcomer 10, stays at the seal part 4, and returns to the sand layer 1 from the seal part 4. A compressed gas source consisting of a gas compressor 15 and a gas tank 13 is provided. The sand accumulated in the seal part 4 is returned to the rich layer 1 by intermittently blowing the compressed gas from the compressed gas source to the seal part 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
