PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect the lower end of a precast pile when hanging it up into a work site, preventing damages to its protruding portions in particular. SOLUTION: A protective socket 10 is prepared (Figs. (b) and (c)) by opening bolt holes 15 at two axial circumferential positions of a steel pipe 1, constructing a cylindrical body 16, fixing a rigid holding disc 12 to the lower end 1a thereof and screwing bolts 17 through the bolt holes 15 toward the center of the prefabricated pile. Precast piles 22 each provided with protruding portions are arranged on square timber 41, 41 (Fig. (a)), and are each wrapped up with the cylindrical body 16 from the lower end 23a thereof (Fig. (b)). Bolts 17 are screwed through the bolt holes 15 of the cylindrical body 16 until they engage at a position above the protrusions 25 of the precast pile 22. These bolts 17 are inserted into total eight upper and lower bolt holes 15, 15 until they engage with first and second protrusions 25A and 25B (Fig. (c)), and buffers 18 are inserted to prevent the cylindrical body 16 from movements (Fig. (d)). When the precast pile 22 is hung up, its protective socket 10 is prevented from dropping off. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
