PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a driving source of a pump by holding the maximum output of the pump low. SOLUTION: This vane pump device is provided with a adaptor ring 4 mounted on the outer periphery of a cam ring 5, a first control chamber 9 and a second control chamber 10 which are disposed between the cam ring and the adaptor ring, and a control spring 7 for pressing the adaptor ring to the first control chamber. The device is further provided with a cam control valve V1 for communicating the first control chamber or the second control chamber with low pressure side or high pressure side, and a load sensitive valve V2 for switching the cam control valve according to the load. When the load increases, the load sensitive valve is operated to switch the cam control valve to communicate the first control chamber with the high pressure side and communicate the second control chamber with the low pressure side, and the cam ring is biased to the second control chamber side to enlarge eccentric amount of the cam ring and a rotor.
