PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To re-form a photosensitive layer which exerts no influence on base body surface property by reproducing the surface property of a cylindrical metal base body without any variation. SOLUTION: An organic photoreceptor A constituted by forming a photosensitive layer having an undercoating layer partially containing a thermosetting resin on the cylindrical metal base body is carried to a 1st washing tank 4 and a contact member 7 with N-methyl pyrrolidone resistance is pressed against the outer circumferential surface of the photoreceptor A; and washing liquid consisting of a heated N-methyl pyrrolidone solvent or a mixed solvent of N-methyl pyrrolidone and 2-butoxyethanol is supplied from a liquid supply part 2 like it flows down on the photoreceptor surface from above the photoreceptor A and also circulated by being filtered after being supplied, at least one of the photoreceptor A and contact member 7 is rotated, and the contact member 7 is moved along the axis of the photoreceptor A relatively to the photoreceptor A to removably wash the photosensitive layer.
